From what GS said it doesn't seem to be a knock-off. I was more curious to see to what he thought of it as it needed movement to detect, unlike the pro-pointer that speeds up sound and vibration when you get closer to the target.

So I really don't have a problem with someone else being asked the same thing. If you are quite happy to spend money and then sort out the details later that is your propagative, but most people like to get things in order beforehand.

The exception being if I want some professional service. For example I am a particularly pathetic fly fisherman so when on the odd occasion I have had the urge to go fishing I have gone to a specialty shop. It does cost more, but the expertise and good advice is worth the extra money. But as you said, if I know what I want I try and find it as cheap as possible.
