BUGGER.....is that where I dropped it.....Very nice find Mathias. Well done. Congrats. That will keep you buzzing for a while. :)
We have had absolute crap weather in QT area. Even bloody snow.....Made a call to Alex & was told it was fine & sunny over there so packed up the detector & headed over. Did a bit of socialising & then went to go up the Old Man Range for a look. Was a pretty cold wind coming off the snow & then the dark clouds rolled over the tops. DAMN...wasnt worth the risk so ended up coming back home.

Sounds like Element is about to get amongst some of that WA gold. I wish him well.

Good luck out there

JW :)

Hey folks, I thought I'd let you know I went back up that creek where I got that nugget. I took the mrs and my bro with me up there and we tore the place apart but didn't get a single speck. Did a few pans and no colours in the overburden. Oh well gotta be happy anyways!
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

That's bizarre eh, you would have thought with something that big that they'd be more hiding nearby!? You lucky guy anyway :)

G'day Matt.....That really is strange......especially more so in a water course. It is quite normal to find a loner nugget when wandering the hill sides detecting....but in a stream you would think it a safe bet that there would be more about. Even if it was just fines. But as we know.....gold is where you find it. A lot of times there just doesnt seem to be any rhyme nor reason as to where it ends up some times. Can do your head in trying to work it out. Especially when you find shotty gold up a mountain side & try to find its source......there never seems to be one!

Good luck out there

JW :)

the creek bed looks quite step, so the big nuggets tend to be left behind while the rest continues on there journey down stream. May also just be a piece of gold that has tumbled out of a bank near by. A piece that big wont have traveled far in the creek bed, so have a look up the banks to where it may have tumbled from.
