Its all a bit of luck where you swing the coil and whether you decide the dig the target or not, last nights 3ds were reading in the pull tab range and had to think twice to dig it or not.
And I do go out a lot, at least 2 nights a week then a full weekend day, and if I cant do a full day in the weekend I would head out Saturday or Sunday night.
Remember I've only been detecting for 10 months so still eagerly hungry to see what's in the ground, I'm sure after a while I will slow down lol

Out for a full day today and was lucky enough to have the caretakers permission on 2 sites, and posted a pic to get you all guessing.
Broke my silver record for a single hunt by 1 coin, 23 silvers including some nice Vickies.
Also a whole pile of penny's and a cool little pocket watch winder.
$20.70 in spendies, and bucket list 1st an acorn 3d, always wanted one of those.

Lol..unfortunately Hatter the mighty F75 has done it again. 12 Silvers tonight and a silver ring, but have to say that Chrispy and the E - Trac found quality.
Also found other little goodies.
Good mix of penny's and half penny's with 1800s ones in the mix.

Yes very hard to find hence all the time I put into research is paying off, sometimes the areas you think are not old enough actually are.
Ever wondered why the grass strip is so wide between the lanes on Bealey ave and some of Fitzgerald ??
There used to be a walking path that ran though the middle all the way down the Ave :)

I've not done it yet, it was an example of areas, I'm fairly sure there's no restriction being on there though

Due to a school outing being cut short due to the rain and I was a parent help, I decided to go for a 2 hour hunt in a wee country area.
6 silvers, plated button with a crown and no wording. A badge with a stag on it and A.O.F and on the back it says Amor Sydney.
Also a for merit badge, have no idea how old. Hope to reach 400 silvers for the year over the weekend.

Just wee bit of research and I think the stag head badge with A.O.F is the Ancient Order of Foresters

Out for the day with no8wire and Chrispy joined in later.
13 silvers, an Auckland token , not sure what all the words say until I study it further, it's a bit far gone.
And old copper bracelet and a piece of copper with a cricket player embossed on.
Pile of penny's earliest being 1862.

Token is as link

Hey mate, just looking at the little piece of copper with the cricketer on it............just wondering if it maybe part of an old vesta case to hold matches?
Kinda looks like a striker pattern between his legs.

Yeah it could be although the ends look curved, to me it seems like it once was a disc and someone has trimmed off the ends and kept the middle with the cricket player.
Can just image a child was dragged along to watch a match, got a bit bored and sat there shaping this disc.

Come to think of it, it could have been a lid to something...Cricket Ball container ?

Definitely looks like a lid or similar. Chalk pot maybe?

EDIT: Well - pic uploaded below showed a continuation of the curvature on the rim of the piece. Just got home and seems it's invisible on my monitor (in case anyone was wondering) Expand the pic to see what I'm talking about...hopefully.
