hi just posting some of my coolest finds, found this metal gold
coloured speckled cap? not sure what it is but i love it and also the
little button these where by far the hardest and most rewarding finds,
cleaning them up and seeing what you got is half the fun.

Yeah, it is great fun to wash the mud off of something when you get home and find out that it was something good.

A great feat of electrical engineering prowess. Perhaps you could get them mass produced in China. Oh, that was the other forum

I have scratched things with my knife while digging up objects too but what I use now to help pinpoint things is a length of brass rod with a grouns tip. This I have glued into a golf ball. By using this as a probe, you are less likely to damage anything then dig around. Don't dig a plug, try a half to 3/4 quarter arc then hinge the sod of earth back. Less mess and less damage to the ground. I love detecting aroung the big trees in parks. People are drawn to these trees when it is sunny and there will always be something to find. I once found a big dessertspoon in a park in Northcote on the North Shore. It had Waihi Silver stamped on the back and Waihi Museum were after it. They have a teaspoon only.

Parks are like beaches, you can never find everything and stuff is continually being lost. Have fun with you machine, what you are finding with it is putting my Minelab Quattro to shame at the moment
