how far down do coins settle on sandy beaches?

Here is a pik of some coins that ive found recently, hope theres enough detail to see, of a 1934 sixpence, a 1971 new penny and a half, a 1940 3d and a 1955 3d. No luck but it was nonetheless a good time. The sovereign failed to make a noise over a small bottle with small gold flakes and .3 of a gram nugget so I'm guessing its not the best machine for small nuggets.
