How about a longer section of latest posts or even a section with posts listed in order of being posted
I check the site daily, but I still may miss recent posts that I would like to read.
Maybe a little hard to do, but just a thought

Hi Gavin,I,m also new to the site and have been reading all the recommendations.
I like the new layout that your,ve put together, and think it will work well.its the best of both worlds.
Its hard to please everyone, so a middle of the road approach will work best i think, keep up the good work.

p.s. hope to see you at one of the monthly meet ups soon.

Welcome aboard! And cheers for the input - much appreciated :) I'm hoping to put the new categories live end of this week.

I'm hoping to make it to the next meet up - will be great meeting a few more people in the flesh!

Looking good. Very close.

General Metal Detecting (for coins and relics). The heading is close but not quite right.
Possibly less catogories for this section to keep it simple.

Cheers...

Any suggestions for the title tweak?

Less categories - which ones do you think could be dumped? I know there's a lot of duplicates with the gold ones, but there's a lot of people that will have an interest in only one or the other I reckon.

Thanks again for the input :)

Looks good though I would have the identify one stand alone as the show and tell is different again - great work though Gavin - you is a geniarse!
Just as well you dont live near me otherwise you would get pestered - by the use of bribery, graft and temptation if need be to make me a website.

Cheers for the input :) I may not live down your way but reckon I'll be down exploring the area in general down south out of curiosity some point in the near future. If I'm anywhere near you I'll give you a shout and see if you want to catch up ;)

The near future is not a good time to be down here if you want to come visit my lace as it is under snow at the moment and sort of a 'white wilderness' with deep snow drifts and totally unpleasant to anything except Polar Bears, Penguins and other Polar species... you know you are welcome to come down and have an explore but wait until the weather is better!

As for the blog thing if it is easy to work and sort of keeps my threads together then all good as my son who is on this site - only to spy though - knows all about these blog things as he has a blogspot himself. I had not added anything in any case due to a seemingly lack of interest and had decided to maybe turn them into a private diary on paper for my kids instead.

Any chance you could have the lastest posts in a forum at the top of the page instead of having to goto bottom of page or to the bottom of the last page to see the most current post? cheers
