Check out Trademe
I just got a reasonably good pair of neoprene ones the other week for $30
2nd hand but still in good nick
Probably pay to be careful of most of them advertised on TM as most of them look pretty cheap and nasty
Look for a private seller trying to offload

The pvc ones on trade me are OK just as long as you don't sit on sharp rocks, walk through gorse's or rose bushes etc, i am on my 4th pair, you get what you pay for

Zimbo:

i've been looking at getting some waders for a while. i thought you had a good pair?

i've gotten soften using neoprene dairy farmer type gumboots. they're bloody good but nearly as much as waders.

are there any waders that do neoprene boots? i don't think i could again stand in the frigid winter water without losing some toes.

i think chest waders would probably be the best bet around here aye? I've come across a few people with them.

i think the cheap canvas thigh waders aren't tough enough with the rocks around here, plus the matagouri and rosehip, broom, gorse and every other bloody introduced english plant.

my mate bought a pair for when he came over in summer and i think he filled them with water a few times. you just can't get in deep enough in thigh waders i reckon.

what methods have you been using lately to find the gold?

we should get together soon for another mission somewhere. i'm keen to investigate some new spots if you are.

i need to find a bit more gold to buy that dredge off you if you still have it!
