Hi There Pay dirt people, Just joined this forum, have been on an American forum for a few years.
I live near Greymouth and try to get out prospecting when I can. Because of bad back and work commitments it's not as often as I would like though.
I'm 56 and have been gold chasing on and off since I was 16, mostly here on the west coast, but have done some detecting in Aussie too. Just a couple of trips. Found some 1 and 2 gram bits over there but nothing huge :-(
Have had a couple of dredges, 4 - 5 and 6 inch, floating and sub surface types. Also worked with diggers and rotary screens.
I recently bought a Gold Bug Pro. It's more dual purpose than the dedicated gold detectors I have had, as I also want to have a go at coin detecting. Be good to learn to see a bit more info on what I'm digging, as large old car parts don't appeal at all.
I have owned and used - Whites Coinmaster, Goldseeker (early Minelab), Gold bug 2, Garrett Infinium, Minelab Eureka Gold. Didn't do much with the Infinium as I bought it for an Aussie trip which didn't happen, so I sold it on.
I'm not very computer literate, sometimes I can upload a photo or find a website, but that's about as good as it gets.
Look forward to reading what you have all been up to. NUGGY

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you've got quite some experience there in finding the colour! What do you think of the Gold Bug so far? Playing with the idea of getting one myself as a bit lighter than the Minelab GPX so easier to carry in on trips when detecting isn't the main reason for the trip.

Cheers,
Gavin

Hi Ash, Another G B Pro user good one. Give me a P M when you are heading over and I will try to meet up if you want.

Hi Gavin, yep it's light weight, and packs down small too. It is sensitive enough to be a good gold machine, auto ground balance, just pump it a little - not fiddling constantly like the Gold Bug 2, nice stable threshold - not warbling like the Minelab Eureka. What I like best though is all the info on the screen. Now if I can only remember what it all means.......

Cheers Nuggy

Yep, just let me know what area you are heading to. If I can I'll come along for a bit, get some gold bug info, and see what you are up to.
