Heya guys,

i will give my overview, but not the machine-the experience with it and you will understand me :-)
First of all i will cover a little bit the detecting in Auckland it self :
* Almost all of our historical parks are reinstated/filled
* Small old parks has a fresh soil layer over 30 deep
* Main detecting goes at the beaches

So, i wanted to have a land detector to keep searching for old silvers, but comparing with CHCH guys- getting 1-2 silvers a week is GOOD for us in Auckland, where south island guys pull 20+ day! :-( that makes me sad...
.. and sad for a reason that we have so much trash that you can not imagine here. the amount of afford i put in finding a silver coin is so enormous, that i can find more gold ring at the beach even during winter time.

The etrac-l it goes really deep, like the whole 25-30 SM down and i am really happy with that! being able to find 3D's that deep is insane! but,
I am really tired digging that deep with Lesche, and there is no way i can bring spade to any park as onlookers will call cops right away or council and it will create a lot of trouble.

So, i am thinking that i will do couple more attempts to find that elusive Half Crown at couple of sites i am planning to visit and probably would like to sell Etrac before summer begins as i will be using mainly Excal all around the beaches:-)

So, here i am asking does anyone want Etrac ? :)
asking price will be 2000$ nzd

I also can sell following separately :

Spare Shaft assembly 100 NZD
Sunray stealth X-8 200$ NZD (almost brand new)
Coiltek 12 X 8" Platypus Coil For Etrac 200 NZD (in used condition)

Gee your giving up easy Max. Takes maybe 12 months to be good with E Trac.
E Trac is good on the sand dry or wet.

But you do have work hours that suit beach hunting for gold and Summer is nearly here.
So if you are in the water then more for me on the sand.
I like your plan. :-)

Its not that i ma giving up, its that we do not have much easy access park or old areas. :-(
Just think of all recent hunts you had... hours and hours and nothing, except the old School...

While at the beach- always something even after Hunt/rehunt overhunt. as sand movement changes everything. and it is not the case in the park :-)

Also, its not that i am selling it 100% right now, as still need to find buyer :-) ans that will take a while, or for someone to collect money/sell their initial gear etc.....

I love the etrac for its depth and no wire around the coil (super simple smart design by minelab -wish that was same on Excalibur)
ITs just not viable to dig for a 2cent piece 20 sm down :-(

Yes your right about the 1c and 2c they are a dam nuisance.
I do enjoy being able to hunt from sand to grass and back to sand with no problem
from the ET though. Maximizes the fun factor.

I am all about fun :-) but at the proper cost,

With Excal- the cost is to be wet if you go into water, and that is fine. Also it is fine when you dress for the beach/water and go into mud- you still fine.
but with Etrac, it is not fine to be all in mud hunting digging all that soft dirt and get a 2C piece or a penny if you lucky :-)

also you can not really metal detect properly if it is raining, pinpointer getting wet, everything is wet, extra caution required not to make detector wet etc...

where with beach, i can put wet suit on to keep me warm and detect in wind, rain ,what ever you name ....

Also when detecting in the parks, its not often you get much of a running water- maybe only handbasin, so can not wash the gear of mud etc....

my main bullet point :
* way more time spent to recover target at the park than at the beach,

In 3 hour time i can recover over 100 + targets at the beach without efford, where at te park that is only several dozen....

That is interesting that you do well at the beach and not in the parks, down here I have gone an hour without even finding a bottle cap at the beach. Today at lunch I found $6 and 5 pennies in 30 minutes at a playground over lunch.

I think you should bring it down to the get together in November so we can do a head to head comparison with the F75.

There are so many half crowns down here you have to carry a screw driver in your car to pick em out of the tire treads.

Hi Max, I would recommend that you give it a bit more time. I had loads of concern about my teknetics T2 SE when I got it this year. I didn't know how to use it and was unaware of its potential. Now I understand how to work it, I find it an excellent machine. Cheers Tony.

Heya Dan,
i've done some calculations for you based on a spot gold and silver price as of last 30 minutes.
Those are only calculations and i am not saying if i am taking those :-) just thought i would see how much your treasures are worth @@ @@

gold half sovereign 300$ standart trademe sale value
8.2 gram mens 9ct - 25$ per gram of value = 205$gold value, but scrappers would give about 15$ per gram of9ct= 123$

british
51 thruppences.0420 = 2.142
23 sixpences .0895 =2.0585
13 shillings .1682 = 2.1866
4 florins .3364 = 1.3456

Total silver content weigh is 7.7327 OZ = 219.21817865 Gramm Silver Content

(new zealand)&(australian) 126 thruppences, 164 sixpences, 77 shillings, 20 florins and 11 half crowns
(australian) 5 thruppences, 4 sixpences and 4 shillings

131 thruppences, .0227 2.9737
168 sixpences, .0455 7.644
83 shillings, .0909 7.5447
20 florins , .1818. 3.636
11 half crowns, .2273 2.5003

Total silver content weigh is 24.2987 OZ = 688.85599565 Gramm of Silver

So total Silver from all coins if they were Non used would be 908.0741743 of .999 silver

The problem i would not get 908$ for all those coins if i sell them to scrappers/dealer, i would get about 50%-60% of silvver value
So that would be about 550$

So based on all calculation above :

Metal Value : 1413 $ spot price
Realistic price when selling to dealers/scrappers: 973$
