Max.specify that you need a stainless steel tube 30 mm x 1 mm

but it is better to choose fiberglass or wood ash (as I think fit solid red wood)
Happy hunting!
Ruslan.

Max, Don't know if you have found a handle for your scoop yet but this place may be able to help you

http://www.nzbrush.co.nz...Accessories/Handles.html

Years ago you could get Hickory handles for pitchforks etc that were super strong but may be scarce here now

I make my own scoops, trowels and digging accouterments because I am too much of a Scrooge to buy one and for handles I use the ends of push bike handlebars including the grips.

Cheap and effective and a cut can be put in them with a 1 mm or so cutting disc to fit them onto the blade. this particular one is the only one at home but not the best but included here to show how the handle fits.
.
You also dont need Stainless Steel pipe - I just get any old Stainless Steel and in the case illustrated it was a commercial sink of amazingly thick Stainless Steel - I cut it to my own specifications for its intended purpose then beat it around a pipe to give it a curve, greater or lesser in accordance with what you want.
