Hey fiddy yup it's a good big ol park with many many trees! Best thing is that it's still pretty much as it was 150 years ago I guess.

Tonight was great too. Had number8wire join in and newbie macman come down for a look. Was good timing to see me unearth a 1943 half crown lol.
Also got a worn 1891 sixpence, 1942 sixpence and a 1934 threepence.
Also got an old locket with a picture of a woman inside-it fits a sixpence perfectly too!
Got one of those old lead bullets with 3 grooves.
Surface finds included $3.70 and a full can of bourbon haha! Good times.
There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!

WOW that is just fantastic, the locket sounds a nice find, I,m just thinking about the person that lost it all those years ago, I take it, it is old, mind you they are all nice finds I think that is one of the reasons I like the hobby just to think about the last person that had the item who they were etc.
I hope to be off to the UK next year, my brother is into MDing, he lives in London but parents and other mates live in Norfolk and surrounded by farm fields, thinking about Hagley there are also some old parks lined with trees and part of the old town wall.
Anyway I,m getting to excited to carry on lol thank you for the email regards Pete

Had an great night-hunt with Jason last night. Great to meet you too macman and welcome to the forum.
Scores for me last night included two pocket spills, one of which was a real surprise.

First spill was two pennies and two half pennies
Second spill was six pennies (with an unexpected surprise!)....also....
Two other pennies, two half pennies, fifty cents, two dollars spendies, three NZ sixpence, one NZ threepence, one Palmolive soap token (c1920's), one musket ball and oooo-argggh....a pirate skull!

Pic's and more details up later on my 'number8wire on the prowl' page.

I had to take the lad down for a football game tonite so got a couple of hours in. Went around a tree near the Armagh St bridge, and from only 2 inches down out popped an 1880 half crown and 1877 6d. Both well worn.

Which was nice.

Nice finds there Andy. That's one of those kinda spots that you drive passed and think....hmmmmm .....one day I'll stop there have a wee nosey....but you never actually do it. I think there's a lesson to be learned here!
Well done dude. Please post a pic if you can.

Not sure there's enough left showing for a piccie to work very well. I'll bring them along on Sunday though. :)
