Just found my first non junk item, a padlock. However it's covered in a layer of soil and then rust.. Can I use ammonia to clean it?

Hi, if you want I could tumble it in my lortone tumbler. That's how I clean up lots of my non coin relics if they are solid enough to handle it. let me know.
