There is no doubt a heap of designs, probably a good idea to watch a few and combine the better designs.

In this design the mesh is inline rather than on the edge, I thought that was a good idea. Might be even better drilling out a thick end cap.

I checked the DIY PVC scoops a few years ago, but came to the conclusion that although cheap they are too restrictive in their use. They can only handle the dry white reasonably loose sand and will be unable to dig effectively in the heavy wet sand or if the sand has a rock, mud or shell mixed into it. Even the Youtube poster "Pat" uses a stainless scoop in his water hunting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TgcYFxds200#t=314s

I'm not saying that the pvc's aren't a good idea - just that they are very restrictive where they can be used. If you only hunt the dry sand then yes go for it.

Cheers ST

Looks like it would work pretty good for beach hunting where you don't need to lift the shovel/scoop.

Like the way he just slides it out of the hole scans then fills the hole, in most cases with pretty minimum effort.

Some that look the same on TradeMe called LoadMaxx @ $119 Hopefully at that price they come with someone to drive them!

Think the one you mentioned might be the go.
