Crevicing and pin point detectors...

How big a piece would they pick up? Would make sense to wave a pinpoint detector over a likely looking crack to see if it was worth digging out but it would depend on sensitivity I suppose... Do they make a completely waterproof one? Useful for sniping methinks...

Was playing with idea of maybe getting one to use up gorges etc. looking in crevices. Does it penetrate very deep in to gravel? e.g. a 1 gram nugget under 6 inches of gravel? Cheers, Gavin

It'd be best for if you were cleaning out cracks above the waterline, you could stick it into the bottom of cleaned out crevices to make sure you don't leave any nugs behind.

Much appreciated :) Not looking so attractive now. Think I'm going to look at upgrading my coin detector for some proper gold detector - seem bloody expensive though! Not got around to properly researching devices yet though, and I see a lot of chatter on the forums to re-read 1st ;)

Seems to me the more guns you have the better chance of coming home with the bacon but I guess if you arent out there swinging a coil or scraping out a crevice you have no chance at all... Shame its raining and all the creeks are up a metre!
