This is a great video if you're curious how some of the metal detectors compare to each other...

Slightly unfair tests huge frequency gap.... The ATG and Actual Gold Bug (not GB2) are VERY close. ATG is more stable if coil cable isn't wrapped until about 12" up the shaft. Still does show how good the GB2 is.

The Eureka gold vs GB2 would be interesting.

Interesting test on a known nugget position.

Like to see the same test machines on an unknown position at say 3" as if just
walking along swinging the coil.

Started watching this as i've never watched any tests really. and i think i know why.

the test is on the surface. and in a known position. all i can say for the first machine beeping over the gold - if it didn't beep there is something wrong with it. the machine was basically rubbing the gold.

as for the tiny grain of gold i know the gold bug 2 can pick up gold way smaller than a grain. my smallest so far is 0.025 grams. so small it was next to impossible to pick out of all the grains of dirt and mica. had to rub it all to expose the gold dust.

would be good to see the test in gold bearing ground. or on bedrock where there are peaks are troughs messing with the machines signals. that would be a good test. or over highly mineralised soil (not hot rocks but the soil) in and around old sites.
