I went for a hunt the other day, deer not gold. Took the pan along anyway, since it was close to Springs Junction, as it turns out the creek in mention has quite a lot of schist/slate type of bedrock running it's length. I did a few hours panning one day, got some flakes in the pan. I'll be heading back in the summer with the wetsuit for some sniping.

Hunting and gold good combitation sounds like you found a good spot, i always take my gold pan when up in the hills hunting never know your luck. Good luck.
