I went for a day trip, to see how my camp site faired over the winter. I had a couple hours to spend detecting, so here it is for 2 hours, spent scratching around.

Looks like your current detector works well.

If you did buy a new one what would your choice be?

Yes west coast gold, its quite interesting not much fine gold, just these little pieces, and not any ferrous metal either.

Yep my current Gold Bug has served me really well (actually got an 1873 Shilling, 1933 3d, and 1949 Half Crown from South Hagley last night) but is just having a few issues. Just a dirty circuit board or bad contacts inside-I clean it with contact cleaner occasionally which helps but I think I need it gone over by a professional to sort it properly. It still works but I lose the pin point/ground grab function.
I feel my number one choice of replacement would be the Fisher F75, but may try get a secondhand AT Pro or similar-sounds like a good all rounder. I mainly do parks but I definitely want to find some gold like digahole! has above!!!
