Well got away early Sunday morning and headed to Shamrock creek as its the closest!
It was really great weather (like 25 deg on Tues!).
I did lazy office hours of 10-5 on Sunday, 9-5 Mon and 9-2 on Tues. Still a shitload of hard diiging hours.
Back breaking stuff for sure! Feels like youre always bent over, whether digging, classifying, running the paydirt thru the sluice....
The first day I walked about halfway from the camp to the tunnel and did ok, the next day walked to a bit past the tunnel and did a bit better and the next half day only walked 5 mins from the camp which wasnt as good (obviously well worked the closer to the camp you are.
That last day, I had to remove a huge ass boulder outta the hole-deserved more than a DB for that so a nice bourbon helped.
The water flow was ok, and I managed to get a couple of really good setups for the sluice.
I havent weighed the yellow stuff yet but it seems to be a bout the amount I normally get for the time put in. Not giving up my day job!
Hopefully will get a two day trip in before xmas to Slab Hut and Nelson Creek.

Sounds like an interesting idea chrispy, easier to stick the vacuum in than the shovel haha.
I wana also go bush for like 4 or 5 days or something to somewhere off the beaten track this summer, maybe Feb,so I can get me an ounce of gold for my troubles! There must be a few creeks somewhere hiding a decent amount!
In the meantime a couple of sun/mon trips before xmas will suffice.

There's another to find and I'm gunna find it!
