Am willing to exchange gold for certain antique guns - must be better than average and top collector items. Will exchange nuggety gold mainly for the right items. Must be better than average, all complete, original and unaltered.

Now I certainly wouldnt mind a stagecoach either as long as it was the older American type Concord style as used in Central Otago or the typical Australian type Cobb and Co one which was also used here.

Now as for the guns - I collect good stuff - Sharps, Spencers, Colt 1851 and early Civil War and American West, early British, Adams, Tranter, Maori wars and Goldfields.

One of the best investments money...and gold can buy is the right types of antique firearms...except that gold is a better bet right now!

All legal in that respect - it pays to give 'the right people' access!

Hey Lammerlaw.

I guess you would have known a charactor guy I knew years ago at (TVNZ.(Auckland) He was heavily into old "Powder" guns, a real fanatic he was, AND now,I cant even remember his name.
But it`ll come to me.(sometime.)

Regards---Colin.

I knew a fair few of the collectors. It is black powder firearms I prefer. I have a few which have definite gold fields provenance and these are my favourites. I also collect other goldfields collectibles - bottles, ingot mold, stamper name plate, Euorpeana nd Chinese scales, Chinese jars etc, etc, etc.

Particularly want - Colt 1849 in .31cal, Colt 1851 Navy in .36cal, Adams and Tranter cap and ball pistols. Good gold offered in return for these items...amount negotiable according to condition.

there's a guy near queenstown that has a mountain of old coaches and wagons wheels and all sorts. as you drive out to the Kawarau suspension bridge the wagons are all up amongst the pine trees on the left at the end of the last straight before the Swiftburn. every time i drive past the collection seems to have grown larger. would be a bugger to shift if you sold up thats for sure.
