Hey guys, been looking at maps lately and reading the forum. Keen to find somewhere I can camp out for a night and get a couple of days sluicing and have a look at some of the historical workings in the area. I know there is a couple of references to this area in the forum and have not visited the Hokitika area. Anyone had a go around here? if so how did you go? What are peoples thoughts on having a sluice and pan in the creeks up around Blue Spur Tourist Drive? Any other ideas for fossicking in around the Hokitika area?

if you are unsure of where I am talking about see map attached below.

Cheers,

Tane.

I went for a drive up there a couple of trips ago and didn't really see any spots that caught my eye. I ended up back at the public area. locals on this forum might say otherwise and I would be interested to know to.
