I am retired and in the early stages of planning a 4wd motorhome trip to the South Island later this year or early next year to do some Gold fossicking, I have been a few times before so do know a little about it. I would be interested in meting others and forming a group, you would need your own equipment, camping gear and transport, or a campervan or motorhome. Anyone interested just drop me an email. Thanks. Dennis.

Hey there, I wish you all the best on your travels! Hope you find plenty of gold! This sounds just like the sort of thing Id be keen on doing. Unfortunately I currently lack the main ingredients. Namely time and money haha.
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Hmmm ok maybe I went about that the wrong way

Geeze Keith what a selfish, rude, horrible thing to do! Open up your place to someone you don't know, no doubt give up some of your time to help them out, Geeze man what a nerve!

That better?

Sorry man, it seems no matter what way you spin it, it was a nice thing to offer. *8^)

Hi GoldPandemic, Will be leaving early February 2015, first stop will be the Howard Valley where we can all meet up, depending where people are coming from, and we can also check out New Creek and Louis Creek, there is a camp site there with a toilet, then maybe on to Murchison, where there is a good camping ground with good facilities, then on to Lyle and check out Lyle Creek, then on down to Reefton and Slab Hut Creek and finally down to Nelson Creek and The Moonlight Creek. The time spent at each location will depend how things are going, some may find more than others. People will be free to take off to other places if they wish to do so, and maybe join up later. everyone is free to do there own thing. I have 3 interested people at the moment that want to go, one definite and two are looking at how much time they can get off work before deciding, all in Auckland at the moment. So would be good to have you along GoldPandemic.
