Finally I made it back to my winter diggings. After two years, my food and fuel stash was untouched even so there were signs that someone had used the spot to camp. I am impressed. Anyway I spent a week knocking icicles off the tent, lugging the one ton backpack, crossing the river first thing every morning, abseiling and climbing in and out of a gnarly side creek, just to do a little bit of metal detecting. Well, it paid off. Got 30.09 grams, just a pennyweight short of an ounce...so to speak. Still using my trusty old X-Terra 70 with a 6 inch, 18.75 kHz, DD coil. It was a blast of a week, but quite happy now on the couch next to the electric fire with a glass of port.
