Hi all,

I've just realised that the site isn't working so well in Internet Explorer now (other web browsers seem ok, e.g. Firefox, Chrome, Safari)...

It appears text boxes etc. aren't showing their outline and so disappear in to the background (but are still there). Sorry about this - I'm hoping to have it fixed by the end of the week.

Sorry about that,
Gavin

If a person cannot do better themselves then it is best they keep their mouth shut - I am saying nothing as I really think that you are doing very well - faux pas or no faux pas! I am sure that everything has its teething troubles!

Ok, I think I've got the IE issues under control?! Please let me know if you're still encountering any weirdness!

@trigger - Sounds like a message informing you of a private PM message. Are you sure they're all read? If so, I'll investigate. To investigate do you mind giving me permission to login to your account to see the issue first hand? To do this I'll need to set a new password for you so I can log in, I'll then email you the new password so you can then login yourself and set it back to whatever you want.

Cheers,
Gav

Hi Gavin, Just a query. When I enter into a topic, the topic opens at the first or oldest post on the subject. You then need to scroll through all the posts to read the last and most recent one.
Am I mistaken, or, prior to the upgrade, did the topic not open to the most recent post?

Yes, I noticed this too - not the most user friendly change they made eh! However I did also notice that there's a smaller link to the right of posts that looks like this (remember to squint): UserPostedImage that takes you to the last post. A little small to try and click on though!

I'll dig in and see if there's a setting somewhere I can tweak.

Doing a lot of web development I couldn't agree more! Too much time is wasted on IE forcing it to behave properly like it's better behaved cousins! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Don't ya love CSS3 rounded corners and drop shadows? All done without having to dick around with hundreds of images on every page.

If all the time wasted by developers trying to get pages to look good in IE*, it would be more than the GDP of a small nation. I gave up in the end and stuck "download Firefox" and "download Safari" buttons on all my websites instead and had them show up whenever someone arrived using IE.

Been temped to do the same myself often! I don't do IE6 with www.topomap.co.nz though.

So what sites have you got out there in the wild? Curious now ;)

@rgmcbrid - Glad you're finding it useful. Just pushing the 28th Jun LINZ Topo50 updates across to it at the mo sheet by sheet. Should be finished within the next few weeks. Let me know if you ever think of any useful features I could add! Playing with an idea I have to brink some advanced print functionality to the site at the mo.

@oroplata - Look forward to catching up! Been curious what you're doing in Mexico too ;)
