It would be really nice if there was an International record of Lost Items.
Then we could return items to people, or have some background history - which would be bloody interesting.
I guess there might be some stolen items found and there may be some police/insurance records.

I wonder if anyone has found knives/guns - that sort of thing could be a piece in a vintage crime (probably too old to solve but still a nice nostalgic entry in the history book).

I guess a trip to the library and getting historic nz crime books could give location clues, I've found an old dagger type knife with a bone handle and wondered if it was a crime weapon.
But yeah enjoy finding the relics and wondering how it got there, and who owned it.

Nah. If the knife had blood dripping off of it then it would probably be just used for cutting steak... Right?
