Great idea Mickey, although I'm personally struggling to find anything amongst my treasures that is cricket related. I have found plenty of items around the peripherals of cricket fields but not actually cricket related items except of course, a few brass wicket tops that the bales to sit on, and the brass pointy bits from the bottom of the wicket.....these, I scrap though.
I really like your idea of specific sport or other activity archives found through detecting. I'll have a think about another item or related topic for archive. A couple of ideas that spring to mind......military buttons/badges, thimbles, bullets and shell cases, horse and carriage/saddlery items ....
Cool idea.

Dug this neat old cricket belt buckle plate a while back. It was a good 8" down. The property it came off was once an exclusive old homestead owned by an influential early settler family.
