I'm having real trouble finding a rock tumbler.. finally found one on tm, its closing in 20 mins and I suspect that the person I'm bidding against will end up paying way more than its worth. Currently the bidding is for an old single phase, metal drum, run by a couple of belts.. I'm no expert, but I suspect paying more than that is probably meaning its quite overpriced.

Anyone on here got one for sale or can make one?

I use the one I have, but years ago I saw one made with an old washing machine motor, a couple of pulleys and an old car axle sticking out the side of a shed - an old car tyre was hung on this and rocks and then grit put in. Great thing was you could check progress just by grabbing a handful whenever you walked past. NUGGY

Just read your post Kittik, did you buy it?

On Youtube, a guy made his own one from an old printer and the power supply from an old computer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnVLM3K6I1M . Looks good

I'm incredibly mechanically stunted, otherwise it does sound fairly straightforward..

Haha, I'm having trouble getting past that guys voice. All I can picture is Dougal from Father Ted making an instructional video!!!
That aside, it looks fairly simple but I'm not terribly confident that it can hold the weights that I want. It'd be great for the odd small load though.. very clever :-)
