What manner of beast is that? Would love to hunt an old town. Blenheim is pretty much closed up since some numpty dug up a football field and upset the Marlborough Borough Council

Pylons/power cables/ ground balance/battery charge issues?

The "hua of a sound" sounds like the threshold scream the Excal does as the battery finally runs out....

Hi mudwiggle .I was running with new batteries tho It was a really cold night with lots of dew maybe the coil and machine didn't like it .
went for a second attempt was a better run with a penny half penny and a silver sixpence which all came up on the third find mode pull tab, ring or small coin was going good till rain cut me short

I helped a film crew on Ruapehu years back, everyone had a battery pack stuffed in their armpit to keep it warm! Could be a temp issue if the second run went well.

Into the silvers that soon has to bode well. Look forward to seeing what you can pull out of that place. How big was the town, and what sort of vintage?

Where in the South is this old town, not that I'm wanting to go. I've been involved in a lot of mining in the south and about to work at another one starting up soon... Just interested, cheers
