Hi, I'm looking for some suction hose. Does anyone care to share their suppliers in NZ?

I've got every size hose around except the 5 inch i need. I'm looking for the clear/white stuff that is smooth on the inside.

I have used the green/black hose with ribs on a 6 inch but it catches too much gold in the hose and probably slows down the water a bit also. I've got the clear/white suction hose in a 4 inch size and find it is great stuff.

I probably only need 3 metres at 5 inch diameter. Pretty sure i don't want to pay $125 a metre so anything better than that or any alternatives that will take the pressure and is smooth on the inside I'm all ears.

Thanks in advance. Simon.

nafcd, thanks for the help. I've actually bought some hose from housetop timaru previously but forgot their name in a moment of madness so couldn't contact them. It was a different type of hose i bought but i found them pretty helpful and price seemed ok. you get what you pay for in terms of decent hose in NZ.

cheers, i will give hcd a call and see what they can come up with.

i've ordered thru blackwoods in queenstown but they just order it in from elsewhere and charge more and i've found it quicker also to just order it from out of town and ship it to my door.

Hi again,

I've tried all the places around here - hcd, housetop, backwoods, and can't find the hose i need. Now open to further suggestions. willing to spend a bit but don't need it gold plated.

I'm after 3 metres of 5 inch (127mm) clear or semi see thru suction hose. must be smooth on the inside.

I've found the same in black, a dark red/crimson but really need something i can see thru so i can quickly see where a jam is or isn't. usually its at one end but the occasional cobble can catch mid hose so not much help if the hose is not see thru to some degree.

Thanks, Simon.
