Dose any one know of where I could go to get coins graded and valued for insurance purposes in Christchurch??

If you're talking PCGS or NGC, then there's no-one in NZ that I've been able to find.

Short of a return trip to OZ, I think you're out of luck.

You could try Howard Mitchell at Auckland Collector Centre or Peter Eccles at Eccles Coins & Banknotes, Not sure if they like giving out valuations unless they are buying stuff from you but worth a go. You could also post some good pics at 'The New Coin Club' in the community section of trademe, Some pretty on to it coin people hang out there especially regarding NZ stuff, Some off them may be in ChCh or at least point you in the right direction. Gd luck

I know that Simon (Expat on the forum) used to do coin grading. Don't know if he has any professional certification to grade but he was pretty accurate with a couple he did for me.
I haven't seen him on the forum for ages as I think he concentrates on his primary hobby of bottle collecting.... but he may answer a PM if you're lucky.
He lives out Rangiora way I think.
