hi,dug this penny today,i know my eyesight is past its used by date but sometimes i can see 1930,i know, ive gone nuts !!!!!!120000 minted only 6 known.

You could try doing an inverted image photo. That might give a clearer image.

This website gives thr numbers as 6 Proofs and about 1500 known examples. http://www.triton.vg/P30.html gonna check grandpa's old collection of pennies when I when get home- one in VF is worth a tidy sum.

1930 for me (I can also see an 8 if I look long enough but it's too close to the 3)

Zooming in on the second photo, I can very clearly see a 1933... The top curve.. the centre point and the bottom point.

Tried shining a torch across the penny to see if any shadows highlight the date?

Try the Brass-Rubbing trick with some thinnish paper.

I saw 1933, but then again the best way to tell is to do a rubbing, as goldflinger said.
