I just tried a place near Auckland's electrified rail lines. Amazing level of interference.
Air tuning did not help either.
Though it is a homeless/drinking spot, so probably full of pull tabs & bottle caps.
Also was near some major roading works, so unsure how old the place is.
Wish I'd got into detecting years ago before they electrified the rail line.

I've had some interference from wifi before or possibly underground power lines.
Led me to think about the perfect time period for detecting.

It would have to be before those foil drink seals 2000?
(those things really annoy the hell out of me - especially after they've been through a lawn mower)
Before wifi; 2000.
Before underground powerlines; 1995?
Before cellphones; 1990?
