Christchurch Gold Fever Sufferers Anonymous - Anyone in Christchurch fancy a regular pow-wow?

Let's get together, make new friends, swap stories, organise adventures and show off our gold finds. All gold prospectors of any type with the fever welcome - panners, detectorists, dredgers, whatever your tool of choice is. Maybe try for something monthly. Venue ideas most welcome. Figure probably get together one evening mid-week so as not to get in the way of weekend adventures. Post a reply here if you're keen. This was set up by "Kev"on here, and a heap of people off FB. We meet on the last Thursday of every month (that means tonight!) at the Running Bull Bar on the corner of Riccarton Rd and Dean's Ave (Old Nancy's Bar site) from 7pm. At this stage, it has been only detectorists....but the more the merrier I say! All are welcome to join in. We usually see at least 10 people at the get together....often more. The meeting is usually followed by a local hunt for those interested, so chuck your detector in the car. Bring your latest finds along from the month also......there is a prize for the best coin and best relic for the month. Might see you there!

I am also real keen to do a day trip somewhere one weekend, i have done numerous day trips to the West Coast & Otago, will be good to have some like minded people join, makes for a good day out.
