Hi there, am looking for a double d coild for my Fisher F2 just like they use on the F4......anything considered. Do the Teknetics coils work also? Some say they do.....some say otherwise.

Chris,

I am not exactly sure what the difference between coils is but I have asked Fisher about swapping them between different series of detectors and they say it absolutely won't work even though they look the same and have the same connector. In the F series the F2 and F4 share coils, but the F5 is different, and the F70 and F75 share coils but are different again.

I don't know anything about the Teknetics coils; Tecknetics bought Fisher a while ago but Fisher has remained its own independent unit. Some of the detectors look remarkably similar so I think there must be some shared technology going on but I wouldn't bet on a Teknetics coil working on your Fisher.

Hope that helps

-Robert
