Give me a yell if you ever wanted to go for a hunt with a fellow Dunedin detectorist.
P.S Im not one of the guys that make a mess of lawns
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

When I got my first detector - a Garrett Deepseeker I used to make a game of trying to pin point the object I had found using themethod I described above and place a little marker above ir - nine times out of ten I was right on the nail. I do think how ever that a pin pointer could be be good if a coin or other item has fallen into the bottom of a hole unseen and you are beginning to wonder where it is - I was just put off them the Christmas before last when a Belgium friend took one up to my place and I found a small gold nugget and he wanted to try his Garrett pro pointer on it - the pinpointer had to be just about sitting on top of the gold before it went off - that put me off it well and truly.
Each to their own I say!
