Shame its not a touch nearer to home, I'd love to get involved.

My greatest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my collection for what I told her it cost me.

The "metal detector" they're using looks more like a gradiometer, and he's holding it by the wrong end!

You might want to call the school and tell them that. It's the ideal thing to find large iron objects, but you have to know how to use it!

boy schools are hopeless. can't even keep track of their time capsule. not much good is it.

short of the capsule being plastic, previously removed, or buried under a new building, i would suggest the guy in the photo learns how to use his detector. It's way up in the sky. LOW AND SLOW. LOW AND SLOW. any depth he had is lost in the air. if the capsule is not metal their could highly likely be metal elements in it, ie paper clips, metal tins, toys, whatever. so unless the capsule is in the blades of grass i think this guy may be wasting his time.

if you think about it i'm sure the capsule would have been buried a good couple of shovel lengths down. so even at 2 feet down he might be dreaming.

they need one of those ground penetrating radar things they use to locate gravesites. would cover more ground. may bankrupt the school unless someone has a unit to volunteer.

good luck to everyone looking.
