Just some velcro should work the same. I have heaps - not as wide but it should work ok so will bring a strip on the hunt if you want?

Otherwise Kellyco sell "no brand" armstraps that will work under their metal detecting accessories.

Tuesdays still good for me. No hunting for me today unfortunately but hopefully I'll get out over the weekend if I can wake up early enough to avoid the crowds.

Hi Andy. Mite be easier/cheaper to repair the one you got if you can. Plastic plates and tiny swrews/bolts.

I was going to fix up a detector with the same problem and thought about using parts from one of those adjustable walking sticks. They are alluminium, but have plastic arm pieces. The op shop or the like should have one. In saying that i dont think that would fix the ace.

Thats good going. Took my 350 two weeks to arrive.
Another idea if the arm bit snaps off is too turn the piece upside down so that the bottom bit becomes the armrest. Its not perfect but it works.

Probably not as simple as this but... I used to use rechargeable batteries in mine and the positive heads didn't always contact properly giving some very erratic behavior, sometimes as easily fixed as sliding off the battery cover and rolling the batteries without removing them. Hope yours is that simple.

No fading problems as such. Does sound like a battery contact problem.
I have noticed that the positive battery terminal/spring going into the control box is loose. Im guessing thats just how they are.
Im using panasonic rechargable batteries and they have been fine.
