Yes indeed, a good plug for the mag and if i was a bit more clever could of got Paydirt in there too. In saying that if you google NZ Fossickers and Collectors mag you can end up in this forum anyhows.
Thankyou Drunkbrother for providing that link (post #5). I couldnt get it right.

The story at hand.
Day 3 and i was determined to finish of this short area of beach at the foot of the mount. I was approached by two roving reporters from the bay of plenty times looking for holiday action. Next minute the camera was a clickin and i was in my glory thinking, the guys on the forum wont believe this. Got back home and told everyone, they thought it was amusing to say the least but followed with interest.
I think the final tally was 63 coins all up, a 1937 6p and a small silver ring. Not alot for 3 days. I was actually hoping to find a penny or two. There is unlimited fossicking areas at the mount with all the beaches there.
I will do the usual breakdown on my regular page.

Hi poohbear. The mount is a great place, could move there quite easily. Heaps of fossicking spots all over and in around tauranga too. There was too many people around to buzz the big main beach. Personally i like the quiet sheltered beaches that are short and flat. This is where all the old finds are. I was actually on a GOLD buzz and wanted that badboy GOLD ring find. That beach cleaning machine probably got them! doubt it. Although i did find that silver ring just under the edge of where the machine went.

Hey there under the bedrock. I use the 350 and found it to be ok in the wet sand. At the waters edge i run the sensitivity on about 2-3 notches. Preferably 3 notches and move a bit slower. Can be frustrating some times but you will no when it hits a real target.
That was my plan at the mount to hit the very low tide line as the coin line here went all the way into the water. There was stuff everywhere. That explains why they put dredge sand on this beach as it all washes back into the ocean.
Depending on the day wet sand can be a prob. Specially if the tide is dropping as the beach is still holding alot of water. Seems to get better as it dries out. With 3 notches you can pic up stuff. 2 notches im not so sure if its thick sand.

thanks for that creamer,I use a goldbug and on the beach I need to screw the sensitivity back to around 60% for it to not false which limits depth (fine on dry sand)-looking to buy another machine for beach use that can get down more than the goldbug..

Because of wet sand i think any machine has its limitations. I have dug some fairly deep holes with the 350 to nail a find. I cant imagine digging any deeper than what i do. You can only dig so far anyhows before enoughs enough.
With its discrimination the 350 is a great beach machine.

Chrisyboy uses the 250 and its just as awesome. Only differance mainly is the 350 has the bigger DD search coil. That makes a differance when covering large areas.
Works well in the wet too.
