Is anybody here familiar with detecting beaches in the Bay of Islands,
from Paihia to Tokerau area

I am heading up there for five days and some 'handy hints' on locations will be greatly appreciated

I do wading in the water and use an Excal

Cheers

Good luck with your trip TS.
I tried Paihia at Xmas with little result except one shattered 10k ring. I know there are regulars up there but are they in the water??
I guess you will find out soon enough. I wont be surprised if you do well.

Max have you ever heard of B & D - It means bondage and Discipline - Unfortunately they got the letters around the wrong way and it should be D & B - Firstly you have to Discipline yourself THEN you apply the bondage - once she is manacled to the bed you are free to go detecting - generally speaking if you play it right then you will have actually gone with her blessing...or at least she wont be able to throw a tantrum with you when you arrive home. To play it right you have to 'verbally manoeuvre her into the situation where she says to you "Do anything you want" - you of course head out the door ultra quick and head for parts unknown with your detector leaving her manacled to the bed - now whos fault is that? She told you to do what you want didnt she?

I take it then that upon return you would have to leave the missus manacled forever or else risk a lengthy hospitalisation and rehabilitation period.......

What the hell do you call your wife 'Pumpkin' for - I sure in hell couldnt call my wife 'Pumpkin' as she looks more like an anorexic telephone pole so if I had to call her a vegetable I think that a parsnip would be more appropriate.

I can only assume that if you call your wife 'Pumpkin' that she looks similar in shape to Olga the principal torturer for one of the NKVD (sort of predecessor to the KGB) prisons...sort of short and rotund. She was also into B & D but for different reasons than I suggested to Max or to what many practice in their bedroom, boudoirs or in their cellar of delights. In fact she was very adept at getting the 'truth' out of people who didnt know the truth but told it anyway to save themselves from torture beyond what most could possibly dream of but still disappeared from the face of the Earth never to be seen again...generally at the hands of her boss, a chap by the name of Lavrenti Beria. Beria had a striking resemblance to Joseph Goebbels but was even more sadistic and cruel.

Just a bit of interesting information that no one really wants to know!

He had a bit to do with it but he still had nothing on Beria...believe me!

This is how one person described him ' He was somewhat plump, greenish, and pale, and with soft damp hands. With his square-cut mouth and bulging eyes behind his pince-nez, he suddenly reminded me of Vujkovic, one of the chiefs of the Belgrade Royal Police who specialized in torturing Communists' - Beria put Vujkovic to shame!

Hope you did ok Treasureseeker. Sorry i missed your message and post.
Paihia beach will be fine as it is most popular and generally calm water. All of the beaches up here are ok to buzz on. There are a couple you cant go on but its highly unprobible that you would find yourself on one of these.

Bay of Islands meetup

Met up with Treasureseeker and family up here in paihia. Had a good chat and took some pics. We went on to see 51 coins all up and tonnes of lead. Alot of old boat yard remnants were present too. See you guys next time.

A couple of dedicated treasure seekers.
