Hi Shelia

The Keene A52 is pretty awesome if set up correctly,But it does need some water velocity. If ya creeks dont have a lot of water or your chaseing fine gold then maybe have a look at one of the drop sluices on the market like the California sluice just an idea.

Minelab sells crevice suckers in various sizes, definately check them out, these will last you ages & the suction wont S#%$ out on you.

All the best

The Keene A52s definitely are a very good sluice box. Mine payed for itself a few times over. It's all about shoveling the right gravel through it. I know of a guy who uses just the traditional shovel, crowbar, pan and sluice, but he's got a real eye for the river and knows where to dig. He gets good gold. Simple as that - if you know where to dig and you're not afraid to think outside the box, spend time either sticking to bedrocky areas or look for paystreaks of flood gold (ie selectively working the best spots rather than attempt to put the whole river thru your box!) Then you can do very well with cheap as chips gear. And it's damn fun.
Good luck!

Totally agree with you nzgold, sample areas first then focus on the hot spots.
The A52 in the right spot is worth its weight in gold
