hi Guys
Can anyone suggest the minimum gear needed for a metal detector outing to hunt for nuggets?
I was thinking of taking :
Detector + 2 coils
pan
sniffer bottle
pick
knife
map+gps
plus other personal basics

any other items essential?
is a magnet useful?

thanks
John

Good old AT-Gold, make sure they get the sniper coil, if possible the one with the chrome plug (apparently they are better).
You will lose a little depth by using the sniper coil but at least you can get into tighter places.

Thanks for the comments re the AT gold.. Yes we are buying the sniper...
Now we just need some time for hunting - day jobs could cramp us a bit!

A Magnet is a good you can glue/screw it to the butt of ur pick then just jam it in ur signal hole now and again when looking for your target see if anything metallic is in there....to play it safe just work on finding some dust anything more will be a bonus.
also a small crowbar is handy if on bedrock a mate has a cold chisel and hammer he use,s its great for smashing open small cracks.
