seems like the design is more 'rain proof' than waterproof / underwater. Saltwater and voltage from the lithium battery = bad result. Likely the battery and machine would be fine with a quick clean of 'contact cleaner' but still, not a good look for mine lab...... see they have a 'special' this month on the ctx....hum....think twice! Unless they come up with a fix for ALL current 3030 owners.

Gutted!!!

I think the main problem is the huge area that has to be made waterproof, Minelab would have been better to have a permanent battery built into the housing with a plug in charger cord. Much smaller area to concentrate on waterproofing.

BUT Max did you find anything whilst there?????

Failure rate must be huge on those... Not that it makes you feel any better but seriously the word "Recall" comes to mind.
I think tight up to 8m? is a bit of a stretch.

Bad luck Max,the worst thing is being without it if you have to send to Minelab

Makes on think twice about one of these in it's current form considering the cost of it
