All new to this forum, hope I don't stuff this up..Does anyone have any experience with detectors that will comprehensively handle blacksand/ironsand. I have a Gold Bug that will handle 3" of ordinary sand on top of black sand but would like to know if there is a detector that will handle solid black sand...

Good luck, its a bit like trying to detect metal in metal. Perhaps the new SDC2300 would work. It's supposed to be second to none in handling extreme mineralization.
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

I couldn't help myself... after playing with a mates SDC 2300 I was so impressed I got one myself. Cuts through black sand without any issue, though I've only found lead shot lurking there so far myself :P

SDC2300...okay, will check it out, thanks..ALSO..anyone had any experience with a "SUN RAY TARGET PROBE - INVADER FX - 1.. have come across some of these items on ebayuk, apparently you dial in a freq. and these things are meant to detect gold, silver, diamonds, rubies, sapphires up to kms away...I know it sounds too good to be true but they do gaurantee these things, try for 7 days and if not happy send it back(from aussie) enough said. Have to admit they dont look like much and their capabilities seem to be extreme...too good to be true..???

They claim 3"+ pinpointing....If you need 3 inch 'pinpointing' you're not driving the detector properly.

Get a Deteknix pointer
More versatile, more customisable, no junk on the machine.
(I don't need to take the phones off as the vibration is proportional)
