Damn, that was a good read Gavin.... It just goes to show you can't trust anyone in the precious metals and Jewellery racket eh? But then again, I knew that already... :)

Excellent read. I tried selling some old gold rings that my wife had had cut off after a accident.
The buyer at the mall gold buying kiosk used that same patter.
As i walked away with the rings unsold I knew that the only people who would sell to them at those prices were desperate people or thieves selling stolen gold.
My grandfather told a me the story of how he got false teeth.
Serving in the NZARMY he went to the army dentist to get a tooth pulled under general anesthetic. When he woke up all his teeth were gone.
He then asked for the tooth with the Gold Fleck back so he could send back to his mum.
He was told the gold tooth was now "property of the crown"
Bugger.

Gday Gavin thanks for that.That was very interesting.
So do you or anyone else out there know about your straw man.Google my straw man and see where the terminology.Worth your weight in gold comes from ,open minded everyone.
