Well I went to my local op shop and they gave me a bunch of wood and plywood for $5 and 2m x 1m chicken fence for $2 so I decided to make my own version of the bazooka gold trap. I just need to get some sealant to make the trap water proof.

It measures 40cm x 12cm -> 22cm x 9cm. I will give it a go the next time I am out.

Here are the pics.

I took that photo before I put them in... is that one your version? I made another one... bigger... while I was panning in the states and wasn't sure if I had got it right. I see that you have 3 tubes... I only used 2 and had 6 holes on each side of the tubes. I don't think i was getting hte agitation that I needed. How is it working for you? cheers

I have 2 Bazooka sluies and they work great. I have capture floating gold in them and have not found gold in the tailings even with a Keene A51 set up to catch tailings.

I don't have a Bazooka but I just made one of a similar design. Have tested it on a river with no gold and it does collect the fine sand.
I just wanted a small backpack sluice.
Cheers

would love to see it process heavy clays or semi cemented conglomerates. the hard pack i got in the river today would be the ultimate test - was packed so hard the pick hardly broke it up. i reckon this would jam up but would love to see a video of it in action with various materials. has anyone else got one?.

I used my home made bazooka on the Shotover a couple of weeks ago. It worked well. Captured lots of fine gold and so easy to clean out. Just lift it up and wash out in a bucket or even a pan.
