I was thinking the boats may have been out of an old battleships game until i saw them. Lead toys wouldnt go down well nowadays!

Some cars I found on the beach in July.

Lead cars

The truck weighs a ton! They are Tinke Toys from around the late 1940's. Defiantly wouldn't find kids playing with lead toys again.

Used to love the annual Big Dig in Whitianga when I was a kid. Used to sneak along the beach and watch where they tossed the capsules before they covered the area up!

Copied from googling 'modern lead toys' -

Tests on more than 1,200 children’s products, most of them still on store shelves, found that 35 percent contain lead — many with levels far above the federal recall standard used for lead paint.

I was just given a box of modern figures the other day and the soldiers or warriors are all lead so yes lead toys are still out there.
