I stumbled across this interesting video and thought I would share -

https://www.youtube.com/...p;feature=em-subs_digest

Now obviously the Racer is not going to replace the multifrequency machines on the beach but this shows how efficient and effective the Makro Racer can handle high mineralisation for a single VLF metal detector -

I am sure whn Makro/Nokta bring out their waterproof units they will be a force in metal detecting across the board

I have been using a 3030 since Easter and although still lots to learn with it I think something was wrong on that test where it did not pick up the chain. Might have to do a little test of my own.

I tend to agree with MK on this one. While chains can be the hardest things to find I don't have to much trouble with my CTX.

Attached is a photo of a few chains I've got so far this year. "No Gold" but mostly from wet sands or in the water. Even picked up a bit of broken chain 50mm long a few days ago.

Hey Guys thanks for your posts -

Just to clear a few things up - I love ALL metal detectors and firmly believe the CTX3030 to be the pinnacle of detectors most hobby treasure hunters aspire to own - I also know that you guys that own/use the CTX are no slouches either -

The point of the post/vid was simply to highlight how well the Turkish units work in wet salty sand for a VLF -

As it currently stands I know the multifrequency machines are the dux nuts in that enviroment so i would always recommend to beach hunters to go with them however if someone is looking for a unit which can perform well in virtually ALL enviroments then the units from Makro/Nokta are well worth a look -

The highest I managed on the Minelab ladder was a Safari of which I thoroughly enjoyed and also stated that if I was to clear a crime scene it would be with a Minelab FBS - Finally after 3 years I am finally considering selling my well balanced Musky Advantage & to this date scored me my deepest coin - 10" half penny -

Thanks again Guys and thanks for sharing your finds -

Cheers

Sorry to hijack syco but there are rumblings on the American forums that the Gold Racer wont be released until next year-can you confirm or deny?

That could be a possibility OD however I have still not heard anything from both Nokta/Makro regarding the Gold Racer since the last time I posted - I might send Dilek a email this time & see what the guts is -

I will update here - in a day or so - sorry about any inconvenience OD
