What price do you pay for gold? Presumably total weight minus impurities minus your percentage?
And now....On sandy beaches and muddy soil, rings and coins await my coil!

Little do these guys know that we have a Hatter protecting our forums, and he is educating us all in the arts of skepticism.

There site seems legit, BUT if someone in the canterbury region could go pop in to there physical address and give them a go it will add some credibility.

He's the brother of another member who's frequented the forums on and off for quite some time now. I've chatted to him on phone. I'm pretty confident he's safe to deal with.

To be honest I legitimately just wanted to know what goldbuyer pays for gold as sometimes I have a moment of insanity and feel like parting with some. I'm generally a gold hoarder but I reckon it's OK to sell gold to invest the money into finding more lol

Looks like he tried to respond to the email notification rather than posting on the forum thread directly. Here's his reply he mistakenly emailed in response...

Yes price paid is spot price on day minus assay, commission, impurities which works out about 20% under spot (ave)

Best way to sell gold is trade me, some people are paying way over spot price for tiny pieces, last month a had some on my watchlist, a .25g went for $135! A 2.3g hit nearly $300. If you can afford to wait a week it's well worth it. If not the arrowtown gold shop buys gold for 95% spot on nuggets bigger than .2 and 85% spot on flour I think.
