Hi my name is Malcolm and I live in Wellington. I have dug out (excuse the pun) my old detector which I built over 30 years ago, replaced all the ICs in it and the batteries and holy hell it goes as good as when I first built it. It is an ETI project 1500 with a few mods and a Magnum search coil that I built, she is a winner.
Are there any people who go out here in Wellington who would like a buddy to go with if so I would love to hear from you.

Hi there Codger. Would like to see some pics of your home made detector.
There are some Wellington detectors here somewhere but maybe not many. Guessing you may have less competition around you which could make for better hunting. Good luck out there.

I'm heading to Wellington soon for a day/night would be great to meet up.
Keen on searching to hills just behind the CBD where they found a bit of gold back in the day (Zealandia reserve vicinity).
But just as happy to do a park run & share tips.
