Gave my winter project a run this weekend at the Waimac river. Reasonably pleased with the results, although there is still some work to do in order for it to be labeled a success. Run my pump at idle and it was still pumping crazy amounts of water into the crashbox. The flow over the grizzley bars needs to be damped down with some rubber matting as the water flow was going straight out of the highbanker with the potential to carry gold with it before it hits the sluice mats.

Anyway, here is a link to you tube: https://youtu.be/Fm1BwdbGOPA

Cheers for now, Ken.

Hi Ken

I like what you have done, your setup with some minor tweaks on flow will work really well. Well Done.

Yep it is still a work in progress, the inflow need some work and the sluice box is too shallow. Reasonably easy fixes, but the major issue I have with the whole set up is carrying the kit to the creeks. Ok if I can park my truck by the creek with only a short distance to cart the whole deal but being a solo operator not so good if I have any distance or steep tracks to negotiate.

Don't tell anyone but I took the high banker and 25M of suction hose to Louis creek for a trail run. The hose I used as a gravity feed for the high banker, no pumps allowed. Well it F******G near killed me. Five trips up and down the track to the creek to get all the gear to the dig site and even worse hauling the gear back up to the truck, never again. I do have a spot that I can get to easily but that's another story.

So that project is on the back burner for the time being. I'll have to be content with running my stream sluice for my golding adventures over the summer.

Well yes, but not any you can dig out of the ground or run through your sluice, places like Micheal Hill Jewellers etc would be the best bet.
