In my opinion look at Crevicing tools first. A good video on 'How to Crevicing' (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVHjgkApLEw) showing the tools you'll need.

It's cheaper to setup than buying a sluice and classifiers, etc. And you'll get bigger gold than sluicing flood gold in river gravels.

Also the tools you'll use for Crevicing is easily transferrable to Snipping. There is some great video's on Youtube of peeps in the South Island finding some great Gold sniping (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sa-yombhn6k).

Anyways, hope I was helpful :)
